Client Summary

Petopia in New York, New York, is known for its cat-related services and has received detailed feedback from visitors. One visitor noted: 'I’ve been a regular customer and always appreciated supporting local businesses, but my last order came with a handwritten note that crossed a line. The message implied judgment about my cat’s food, in a way that felt personal and unnecessary. I understand caring about animals β€” I do too β€” but unsolicited commentary on someone’s pet choices (especially without knowing their situation) is unprofessional and inappropriate. I feed my cat with love and intention, and receiving that note felt invasive and tone-deaf. I’m sharing this so the business can reflect on how they engage with their customers. Kindness and professionalism should always go together β€” especially in a pet space. I did call the location about the note and spoke directly to the person who wrote it. She told me that she was a manager and that I am the first to ever call back with any complaint because this is not the first time she has written a note on someone's order. She said she was sorry that I β€œtook it that way”. I don’t think you should write notes on anybody’s food unless you are a licensed veterinarian, even if your intention is to be helpful.' Another review mentioned: 'Awsome staff they always show love to my furr baby Riley every trip I take her an they also suggest some great non chicken food as well for her!'
