St Mina Animal Clinic in Woodhaven, New York, is known for its cat-related services and has received detailed feedback from visitors. One visitor noted: 'The most horrific, traumatic experience I have ever had here. Theyβre money hungry and disgusting. We had my elderly, childhood dog put down here and when we decided to do so, we were met with attitude and given a cold shoulder. My brothers and I were there with my dog to put her to sleep and while ai expressed that I did not want to be in the room when it occurred, the vet decided to go ahead and do it in a painful way for my dog, while I was in the room. The door was wide open and guests were looking in while this happened. After she passed, he left the room leaving her dead on the table. My brother had to take her and place her in the cardboard box that they left for us. There was no compassion or care for us or my dog. Absolutely disgusting and I am still scarred to this day. This happened a few years back but I have had a hard time getting on here to write this. Would never recommend or return.' Another review mentioned: 'There's no Saint in St Mina ! I took my little toy pomeranian on 7/15 to St Mina she was urinating with blood , I was assuming she had a bad uti infection. After waiting almost 40 minutes after our appointment time, the nice vet-tech called us into one of the exam rooms where our dog was weighed and temp checked, the Vet came in and said that we needed 2 X-rays which would cost $210 + $70 office visit , ok. After the Xray we where told that our pom had bladder stones and that she required surgery costing close to $4000. We could not afford that since we are retired with limited income. We left saddened about the possibility of having to put our baby down. That evening I took our dog out to pee and thank god she completely emptied her bladder along with 12 stones . She was doing much better. Two days later I call St Mina and asked if I could be given a prescription for the Hills Science dog food for uti and for antibiotics the Vet absolutely refused and said the only option was surgery . I google searched for the stones my dog excreted and found the were the common struvite stones and during continued research found x-ray images of a dog with bladder stones and to my amazement it appeared to be exactly like the X-ray the Vet showed me. A friend of ours gave us some dog amoxicillen and have been giving her UTI supplements and have changed her diet along with dl-methionine. She excreted 13 more stones since. My little Pom has completely returned to her former self. I Thank God for giving me back our pom. As for St Mina animal clinic you must decide . Research the owners and Vets and if you find no info that should set off alarm bells in you head .Good luck with your Pet .'
